One Shoulder Bow

The one shoulder bow is everywhere!  I love the girly look it adds.

I decided it would be pretty easy to make my own.  I just added a pin to the backside so I can attach it to whatever I feel like needs a bow!

I used ribbon to create mine.  It was my first sewing project ever!
I figured it would be something easy for a beginner.

I could pin this on a plain fitted tshirt, a sleeveless blouse, a little black dress...
...the options are endless...

Good Deal Friday!

I hate paying full price for anything...that is, unless it is from Forever 21
or a store with that kind of good pricing.

Leopard print has been on my mind lately.  I have an outfit in mind of wearing it with red...and my camel boots.  The nice thing about it, is that leopard print matches with so much.  I found this scarf that is only $9.99 (originally $29) on StyleInch.com.  The scarf is an inexpensive way to sass up a basic outfit.

While you're on the website, browse the othe sale items.  There are some nice handbags at good prices!

Here is another great deal I found at Pitaya.  This skirt can be dressed up or down.  I could wear this to work, shopping, or out on a Friday night.  Originally $29 and now on sale for $12!!

Here is my favorite find of the day!  I live in Chicago, so it's no secret we have pretty frigid winters.  And since I don't have the luxury of a car (which, I'm A-OK with!), I walk a lot and often have to wait in the cold for public transportation.  When I see other commuters with these coats, I get a little envious.  They're like a big cozy sleeping bag!  This Kenneth Cole one from Macy's is perfect and I'm saving over 65% off of the original price!!!  I got it in black, but posted this cream color so you could see the details better.

Happy shopping!

DIY: Taylor Swift Heart!

Go figure...Taylor Swift is wearing a shirt with a big heart on it!  (I love her!)
I thought it was cute and could recreate it myself.
My cousin and I made it our project for the day.

1-I drew a big heart on a piece of cardboard and cut it out with a box cutter.
Little Wiggles was helping me.

2-So this is what I used as my stencil.

3-Next, I cut the collar off of a $2 boy's sweatshirts purchased at a thrift store.
I decided to go with grey instead of white.

3-Then I placed the stencil in the middle of the shirt and started dabbing
a red fabric paint on the shirt with a sponge brush.
I got all of my supplies at Michael's

4-I let the shirt dry according to the recommended time given by the paint bottle.
Soon it was ready to wear!
Just make sure that when you wash the shirt, you turn it inside-out.

Ta da!

This was a fun one for me.  :)

A good find.

I got these Nine West red shoes from the thrift store for $4 on Saturday.  They look brand new.  The next day while I was reading through my Lucky Magazine, I spotted a featured pair of similar shoes.

Mine were $85 less.
I like that.

I cleaned out my closet!

It is such a good feeling to organize and get rid of things that are wasting space.  Here is what my closet looked like when I woke up this morning:

It clearly was a disaster, so I decided it was time for it to get a deep cleaning.  I tried on everything I hadn't worn in a while; bottoms with a plain black fitted t-shirt and tops with my favorite skinny jeans.  I got the best idea of fit this way.

After filling two large shopping bags full of items I don't wear anymore, I took them to two nearby resale shops:   Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads Trading Co.  Combined, I got almost $70 back for my items.  What was left over I donated to a second hand store which benefits a nearby hospital.  I will get a tax credit for 25% of the total donated.

With my earned money, I bought boxes to organize miscellaneous items that were lying around my closet making it look messy.  Here is the final product:

My closet looks amazing now!  I found so many items I forgot I owned and am looking forward to wearing soon.  It was a good day...

9 Reasons To Accessorize!

1 - Draw attention to your assets
2 - Pull attention away from your trouble areas
3 - Give a variety of looks to a single outfit
4 - Make an outfit appear more expensive
5 - Revive or update classic styles and basics
6 - Relate different items of your outfit to each other (patterns, texture, etc.)
7 - Bring color into an outfit
8 - Serve as a function (disguise a bad hair day with a hat, be on time with a watch, etc.)
9 - Make a statement about your personality and define personal style

I just did a little online browsing and found these great accessories.  There are so many fabulous deals on shopping websites right now!  Make sure you find online coupons to maybe
get a percentage off or free shipping.

Check this watch out at Urban Outfitters for just $30.
I love the color and it will match with so much.

These colorful and fun sunglasses will say a lot about your personality!  I found them on  bleudame.com for only $9.80!  I don't know how well they will protect your eyes from the sun, but they do make a statement!

I own a belt very similar to this one from Akira, but the one below from Forever 21 is only $7.80! Belts are great accessories and do a lot for an outfit.
